An expert panel of dermatologists did a photographic assessment after five years of clinical studies and found that most men see results in hair growth within three to twelve months after starting treatments of Propecia.

Propecia for hair loss is the first and only pill that has been approved by the FDA to treat male pattern hair loss on the top of the head and middle of the front of the head. This treatment works with males only and has not been proven yet for working on receding hairlines at the temples.

Women who are pregnant should not handle any crushed or broken tablets because the active ingredient may cause abnormalities in the male baby’s sex organs. If you are a pregnant woman, and you come into contact with the active ingredient in Propecia, you should consult your physician immediately. With normal handling, you won’t touch the active ingredient because the tablets are coated.

Although you will see hair growth, you may not be able to grow back all of the hair that you have lost. This medication can only be purchased with a prescription from a physician and you will see growth reappear over a three to twelve month span, but the results achieved will disappear if you quit taking Propecia for hair loss.
